Decorative & privacy

Decorative and privacy window film

Privacy without walls and without losing daylight. Frosted and etched films turn clear glass into a soft, lit surface — the look of sandblasted glass at a fraction of the cost, and reversible if the space changes.

What decorative film solves

Glass conference rooms look sharp and offer zero privacy. Bathroom and entry glass needs obscuring but not darkness. Open-plan offices need visual separation without building walls. Decorative film handles all of it by changing what passes through the glass while keeping the light.

Frosted & etched

The classic sandblasted look. Full-pane coverage or a band at seated eye height, which is the standard approach for conference rooms.

Gradient & patterned

Fades, linear patterns, and dot gradients that provide privacy at sitting height while keeping sightlines open above.

Custom cut & branding

Logos, wayfinding, and cut graphics applied to glass partitions and storefronts.

Common applications

  • Conference rooms and glass offices — privacy bands at seated height
  • Bathrooms, showers, and entry sidelights at home
  • Medical and dental offices where patient privacy is required at reception and exam rooms
  • Storefronts and restaurants for branding and partial screening
  • Bird-strike deterrent patterns on large glass elevations
  • Rental properties where permanent glass changes aren't allowed — film comes off cleanly

A practical note about night privacy

This trips people up regularly. Reflective and mirrored solar films give you daytime privacy because the outside is brighter than the inside. After dark, with interior lights on, that reverses and the effect is lost. If you need privacy at night — a bathroom, a ground-floor bedroom, an exam room — a frosted or decorative film is the correct product, because it obscures in both directions regardless of light levels.

Questions people actually ask

Does frosted window film provide privacy at night?

Yes. Unlike reflective solar film, frosted and etched films obscure the view in both directions regardless of whether it is brighter inside or outside, so privacy holds after dark.

Can decorative film be removed later?

Yes. It bonds to the glass surface and can be removed professionally without damaging the window, which makes it well suited to leased space and rentals.

Can you cut a company logo into the film?

Yes. Logos, patterns, wayfinding, and custom graphics can be cut and applied to glass partitions, doors, and storefronts.

Does frosted film block heat too?

Only modestly on its own. Decorative film is chosen for privacy and appearance. If you need heat rejection as well, we can either specify a combination product or apply solar film to the sun-exposed glass and decorative film where privacy is the goal.

What is the standard height for a privacy band on a conference room?

A band roughly at seated eye level is typical, commonly starting around three feet from the floor and running one to two feet tall. The exact placement depends on your furniture and sightlines, which we check on site.
